NOTICE: Groundwater Test Kits Available
For the past year the Groundwater Section of the Water Resources Management Division, Department of Environment and Climate Change, has been actively gathering data through our free groundwater chemistry testing program.
The purpose of this program is to collect baseline groundwater data for the province, while providing well owners with detailed information about their drinking water, in hopes of lowering the health risk to the public related to consuming groundwater with naturally occurring contaminants.
Through our data collection we have identified that there is potential for higher levels of arsenic within some areas of your community. We would like to provide easier access to the test kits to help encourage private well owners in the area to test their well water.
Groundwater test kits are available at the Town Hall, so residents can easily pick up kits.
Kits need to be dropped off at the nearest Government Service Center location, (Bay Robert’s).
